TN Songriters Week Qualifying Round

We're excited to announce we are once again hosting a qualifying round for #TNSongwritersWeek on Sunday, February 2nd at 5:00 pm!

Doors open at 4:00 p.m. We are accepting entrants beginning Friday, December 13th. (more information below).  The Pines has had many famous faces grace its former stage and it's even where Dolly Parton had her first paid gig. Now is your chance to play where the legends have played. 

Entrants: You must be able to perform an original song (5 min. max/all genres invited). You must be 18+. Limited spots are available. To sign up, please fill out The Pines Downtown: TN Songwriters Week Qualifying Round form. Entrants are only allowed to participate in one qualifying round.

Please note entrants are expected to be on site during the entirety of the event. 

The celebration of the craft that helped put Tennessee on the map, Tennessee Songwriters Week, begins with qualifying rounds at over 50 participating music venues beginning late January to early February. From there, select songwriters will move on to one of seven Tennessee Songwriters Week showcases. The showcases around the state highlight cities and regions that played a major role in the musical development of Tennessee across a diverse range of genres like blues, bluegrass, country, gospel, soul, rockabilly and rock ‘n’ roll. One songwriter from each showcase will be chosen to perform at Nashville’s iconic Bluebird Cafe during a private event in March. Each of the finalists will also receive additional prizes, including a one-year membership to Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) and a commemorative Taylor guitar.
