Rock Island State Park

Located about 15 miles from Sparta, this popular park features cabins, campsites, picnic pavilions, boating and fishing on the popular Center Hill Lake. The scenic beauty of the 883-acre wooded area is dominated by the 80-foot Twin Falls, which can be viewed from an overlook across an imposing limestone gorge. You may also drive to the Great Falls Overlook, the Gorge Overlook and the Twin Falls Overlook for fabulous views of the Caney Fork River as it flows into the Center Hill Reservoir. There's a 19th century textile mill on site as well as one of Tennessee's early hydroelectric plants.
