Revolutionary War veteran James White was given a land grant of 1,000 acres for his service; he built his two-story log house on the present site of Knoxville in 1786. Today, this recreation of his homestead is the city's most visited historic site, containing some of the original logs, pioneer artifacts and furnishings. Tour the property and see how early Americans lived during that era.
