Big Band leader Glenn Miller's song "Chattanooga Choo-Choo" was written in 1941 as a song for the movie debut of "Sun Valley Serenade" and became a top-selling pop hit during the early years of World War II. While it wasn't the first record to sell 1 million copies, it was the first gold record presented by RCA Victor. Miller's recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
