Thirty-four minutes west of Nashville is Lebanon, Tennessee where you’ll find the historical Tennessee Music Pathways marker dedicated to Charlie Daniels. The singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist successfully bridged country, Southern rock and bluegrass for his unique sound. Famously known for hits like “The South’s Gonna Do It” and “Devil Went Down to Georgia,” Daniels is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, was honored in 2005 as a BMI Icon and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Near Lebanon, Tennessee you’ll find Cedars of Lebanon State Park, a great place to hit a short trail to stretch your legs. The park also provides guided horseback riding expeditions if you’re looking for a different mode of transportation for a while. Lebanon’s town square is filled with antique, gift and collectible stores, comfort food and more. Explore the area’s history at Fiddler’s Grove Historic Village where a collection of turn-of-the-century buildings are open to tour.
