Mockingbird is a full service restaurant set in an 1850's farmhouse! It sits on five acres and stares across at the Spring Hill Battlefield, so the home is loaded with history. The menu is Southern American and features everything from Shrimp 'n' Grits and Country Fried Steak to Blackened Red Snapper and New Zealand Lamb Chops. The Chef is from North Carolina and has a strong concentration on all natural, hormone/antiobiotic free ingredients. The menu changes seasonally with what is currently available and locally sourced. Prices are affordable, and the restauarant is family friendly featuring a seperate kid's menu. The bar features craft cocktails and a chef's table that overlooks the post and beam bar room. There is also a patio (dog friendly) and large outdoor area for seating and events. Annual events include a pig roast, barbecue and blues fest, lobster bake and fish fry. Dining at the Mockingird is not be missed on your next visit, as it is only about thirty minutues south of Nashville. It is simply quite unique to the area to be able to dine in an historic civil war era farmhouse with a Southern Chef inspired menu! The restaurant is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, lunch on Saturday and a very popular Sunday brunch starting at 10am!
