A Tennessee product that is both an American icon and one of the hottest trends in the food world is Lodge Cast Iron cookware. Manufactured since 1896 in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, the company’s skillets, Dutch ovens, grills, griddles, kettles and more have been fixtures in family kitchens for generations, much-loved and passed along from one cook to another. Cast iron cookware heats evenly, retains heat beautifully, and is virtually indestructible. As one of the last cast iron cookware foundries left in the United States, Lodge is especially proud of its history and commitment to quality. The company was founded by Joseph Lodge, an Englishman who came to this country in the late 19th century.

Lodge offers tours of the foundry during the National Cornbread Festival each spring in April.
