Joppa Mountain Pottery was started in 1995 by Master Potter McDonald Crosby and his wife Ann. They specialize in hand-built pieces and the Raku process and have been featured on Home and Garden Television (HGTV), PBS and numerous publications.
Their reputation has been built around Stoneware and Raku Pottery. Each piece is either wheel-thrown or hand-sculpted and then decorated, carved, painted, glazed and kiln fired using their hands. Their glazes are from their own recipes, made with different combinations of materials from all over the world. We use Stoneware glazes include Chung reds, cobalt blues, earth-toned browns, while nickel, copper and iron metals make up the Raku glazes. No two pieces of Joppa Mountain Pottery are exactly the same.
