A division of the Tennessee Secretary of State's Office, the Tennessee State Library and Archives hosts many free events in downtown Nashville. The Library and Archives is free and open to the public. Experience Tennessee’s story through free special events, interactive exhibits, and even conduct your own research with some of our state’s most precious historical documents.
The Library, Microfilm, and Manuscripts Reading Room is open to researchers Tuesday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT.
The Legislative History area is open Tuesday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT.
The Library for Accessible Books and Media (LABM) is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT.
The Library & Archives is closed on State and Federal Holidays. Click HERE for a list of closure dates. Please plan your visit accordingly.
The Library & Archives will be closed on the following Saturdays in 2024: March 30, April 27, November 30.
