Founded in 1906 and located in Midtown’s Overton Park, Memphis Zoo is home to over 3,500 animals of over 500 different species. Creating adventures and saving wildlife is the mission of Memphis Zoo and it is apparent with every corner you turn as you navigate this 70-acre wildlife wonderland. With conservation guiding their day-to-day operations, Memphis Zoo is regarded as one of the best in the nation and continues to make major strides in research and conservation all over the world. Since the early 1990s, Memphis Zoo has invested in multi-million-dollar renovations and expansions that will continue with the announcement of the zoo's newest Comprehensive Campus Plan. The zoo's animal inhabitants reside in one-of-a-kind exhibits such as Zambezi River Hippo Camp, Teton Trek, Northwest Passage, and China. The Memphis Zoo is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

9am to 5pm (last admission at 4pm) October- March
Admission is Free for Tennessee residents on Tuesday after 2 pm.
