Restored 1927 theater now hosts live concerts and performances throughout the year. The Etowah Arts Commission Gallery is also housed next door. The Gem Theater is home to the Gem Players who were designated the resident community theater in 1993. The Players produce several family oriented plays and musicals during the season. They offer the community a free Merry TubaChristmas Concert in December. The Etowah Arts produces the annual Cousin Jake Memorial Bluegrass Concert in March each year to honor Etowah's own Jake Tullock. Tullock played bass with Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys for several years. Tullock was recently inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame in 2018. Also performing annually at the historic Gem Theater is Matt Cordell's ElvisTribute Concert. The Etowah Merchants Association is a sponsor of Cordell's sold out performances.
