The Cherokee Chieftan, carved by widely acclaimed sculptor Peter "Wolf" Toth, was presented to the city of Cleveland as a gift in 1974. The Chieftain stands majestically on the front lawn of the Museum Center at 5ive Points as a proud reminder of the region's significant Cherokee Indian heritage. Toth carved at least one statue in each of the 50 states. These works are collectively known as the Trail of the Whispering Giants.
