Built for Chrisopher H. Smith in 1859, the Smith-Trahern Mansion is often referred to as the “Queen of the Cumberland”. Located on a hill overlooking the Cumberland River, this home has been witness to Clarksville’s history for over 160 years. With a transitional Greek Revival and Italianate design, the home has many original architectural elements that are original to the home. It is one of the few homes in Clarksville that predate the Civil War. It was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1988.
Smith Trahern Mansion is temporarily closed due to ongoing renovations and is scheduled to open in 2025/2026
