Good Dog stands out for both its food and its funky atmosphere. This North Shore restaurant has a distinctive look and taste. With both all beef and vegetarian grilled hot dogs on toasted buns, options range from the classic Chicago Dog with bright green relish to a BLT dog with frites sauce. Add big, tasty salads, chili, slaw, all kinds of "schmeers, sauces and toppings." Then there are the cupped cakes and the beer selection. The location has been transformed with entirely repurposed materials--not a new nail or a screw in the place and supplies from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. The benches are made of wood from an old North Chattanooga home, and frames are made of scraps donated from frame shops. The result is a restaurant full of personality and seemingly endless details. With the goal of becoming the second green restaurant in Chattanooga, Good Dog and has begun the certification process through the Green Restaurant Association. So visit Good Dog. Sit. Stay. Eat.
