Theatre Bristol’s mission is to offer skills and opportunities to children and adults that increase their self confidence and to provide an outlet for live performance by community members for audiences throughout the region. The vision is that all children and adults experience the unparalleled benefits of live performance, and that no child be turned away from opportunities for learning, whether through workshops or attending a show.

Theatre Bristol was originally established in 1965 as the Bristol Children’s Theatre, is a community theatre with a focus on reaching children performers and audiences. Theatre Bristol has performed before audiences of adults, as well as school children from local school districts, and for the general public in this theatre-oriented area. Theatre Bristol holds distinction as the oldest continuously-run children’s theatre in northeast Tennessee.

Theatre Bristol is dedicated to:

  • Arts Education and Youth Programming;
  • Community Outreach; and
  • Main Stage Seasons of Quality Family Musicals and Dramas.

Theatre Bristol's Main Stage season consists of six to eight productions. Some of its performances take place in the ARTspace, a multi-purpose, black box theatre which seats up to 120, and other performances are on stage at the Paramount Center for the Arts.
