Wineries in and near Nashville are an experience of fresh air, beautiful views and unique wines. Take a day trip to a couple or several of these wineries while staying in Music City. Here's where to go for free tastings and a fun day among the vines. Please sip responsibly.

Wineries in Nashville

City Winery

Enjoy live music, great wine and delicious food at City Winery. Catch one of the shows in the winery's intimate venue. Before the show, enjoy a wine flight of six wines, locally made with some of the best grapes in the world, for $15 per person. Winery tours are hosted Thursdays to Sundays. Savor the seasonal menu at a sit-down meal with options like watermelon gazpacho, duck tacos, roasted Brussels sprouts with feta and molasses vinaigrette, shrimp pasta (spaghetti squash), pan seared salmon, flatbreads, half smoked chicken, burgers and so much more. 

Belle Meade Winery

Belle Meade Winery, located on site of the Belle Meade Historic Site, offers a unique Nashville wine experience. Explore the 32 acres of historic property, enjoy a bottle of wine in the wine garden or enjoy a wine and food pairing tasting. The pairings, offered daily 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., include perfectly paired dishes with five wines, designed by Executive Chef Stephen Kruger. Groups like bachelorette parties will love the private tastings which include a six guest minimum and a journey through a variety of wines.

Love and Exile Winery and Bar

Love & Exile Winery Bar is conveniently on Main Street, less than a mile from downtown Nashville, and offers a working winery, restaurant and live music. Canned and bottled wine are available including Sauvignon Blanc, sparkling red wine blend, strawberry wine, blackberry sweet wine, sparkling rose and more. Book a wine tour and grab a bite to eat as the menu is full of chicken wings, flatbreads, sandwiches like meatball subs and watermelon, goat cheese and prosciutto salad, charcuterie boards and desserts. Brunch is served every day 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wineries an Hour from Nashville

Beachaven Vineyards & Winery - Clarksville

Escape to the tucked away vineyard paradise of Beachaven Vineyards & Winery in Clarksville. More than 25 wines are on the menu like staples Chardonnay and Merlot to fan favorites Golden Rose and Jazz. Seasonal releases and limited reserve wines are also announced throughout the year. Beachaven hosts one of Clarksville's longest running outdoor music events, Jazz on the Lawn as well as music every weekend May through October in the picnic area. Stay for tastings, tours and a picnic to fully enjoy the beautiful grounds.

Pickers Creek Winery - Lewisburg

Set off for Middle Tennessee's rolling hills and visit Pickers Creek Winery in Lewisburg. Enjoy live music while sampling their award-winning wines like Muscadine, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chambourcin. Sit on the wide porches, under the trees or by the bonfire, sipping and soaking in the views.

Long Hollow Winery

Enjoy a bottle of wine from Long Hollow Winery, inspired by an actual Monastery. Founded by Grand Ole Opry star, Stu Phillips, Long Hollow offers fine wines, cheeses and jelly. You can find a wide variety of wines including Pinot Gris, Blackberry, Chardonnay, Riesling, Merlot and more.

Arrington Vineyards

Live music, vineyard tours, picnics and local wines wait for you at Arrington Vineyards. Set among quiet rolling hills, Arrington is about 30 miles south of Nashville, perfect for a day trip to Nashville's wine country. Book an elevated experience including such as the Premier Experience which includes a video of the wine making process, a brief history of the property and a private wine tasting paired with seasonal small bites. You'll also keep a Riedel wine glass as a souvenir. The Signature Group Tasting can accommodate 6-10 guests in the Nashville Room or 6-14 guests in the Rosé Room. This tasting includes some celebratory bubbly, a tasting of Arrington's popular wines, cheese plate, commemorative wine glass and breathtaking views of the vineyard. Wine tasting flights and frosé are available every day to enjoy at one of the many picnic tables or green spaces on the property. 

Wines in the Fork - Leiper's Fork

Spend the day in the shops and art galleries of Leiper's Fork, about 30 miles from Nashville. Then, spend some time at the creekside tasting room at Wines in the Fork. Taste award-winning wines (a flight of four 2oz pours is $12). Then, choose your favorite and sit a while enjoying the sounds of the creek and surrounding nature.

Sumner Crest Winery - Portland

Thirty-five miles north of Nashville is Sumner Crest Winery in Portland. Here, you can enjoy an $8 flight of four, 2oz pours from the wine list. Enjoy your flight on the patio or in the chandelier room. The VIP Tasting includes a tasting with a sommelier as well as a tasting glass as a souvenir. The premier tasting includes everything in the VIP tasting plus hors d'oeuvres and cheeses paired perfectly with your wine selections. After your wine tasting, choose your favorite then shop for local items in the gift shop and have a bit of lunch at The Grape Vine Cafe, which provides freshly made chicken salad, pimento cheeses, specialty salads and charcuterie boards every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Winery Day Trips from Nashville

Stonehaus Winery - Crossville

For over 30 years, Stonehaus Winery in Crossville has produced award-winning wines and is the state's only winery with statewide distribution. Free wine tastings are available every day with a visit to the winery and gift shop. Stonehaus Winery produces chardonnay, blush wines, muscadine, blackberry wine and Pinot Gris among many others. 

DelMonaco Winery & Vineyards - Baxter

Spend a day at the elegant DelMonaco Winery & Vineyards in Baxter, where you can walk through more than 20 acres of manicured vineyard, enjoy tastings (3 for free) of the award-winning wine and take in the atmosphere of this Tuscan-style winery. The gift shop is full of art work and unique items. Find a quiet spot on the back patio to enjoy your purchased wines, overlooking the vineyards. Three Tesla charging stations are also available for those traveling by electric car. The vineyard is also pet-friendly.

Highland Manor Winery - Jamestown

Considered the oldest winery in Tennessee, Highland Manor Winery has produced fine Tennessee wines on the Cumberland Plateau. Free wine tastings, tours and events throughout the year make Highland Manor a great destination for a day trip. For a special experience, book the Picnic in the Cellar. Buy a bottle of wine, then venture down into the wine cellar to enjoy wine and an assortment of Tennessee cheese from Sweetwater Valley Farm and a variety of premium crackers.

The Natchez Trace Wine Trail consists of four wineries - Grinder's Switch Winery, Keg Springs Winery, Amber Falls Winery and Natchez Hills Vineyard - in Middle Tennessee offering stunning scenic beauty and award-winning wines. Explore them on a day trip from Nashville.

Grinder’s Switch Winery - Centerville

Grinder's Switch Winery in Centerville has rows of grapevines and natural scenic beauty. Owned by Joey and Gail Chessor, a small-town couple who turned their dream into a thriving family business, Grinder's Switch has grown and produced award-winning wine for nearly a decade. The tasting room is situated inside a log cabin that looks straight out of a fairytale. After tasting the many wines on the menu from sweet blush wine to Cabernet Sauvignon, you can grab a glass and stay awhile to enjoy the views. There’s an outdoor patio where you can spend some quiet time with your wine. For larger groups, Grinder’s Switch can provide an event space with plenty of room for friends and family. 

Keg Springs Winery - Hampshire

Keg Springs Winery is just 20 miles up the road in Hampshire from Grinder's Switch. The scenic route takes you past creeks and farms. At Keg Springs, you enter a tasting room that faces a valley of views. Each week, entertainment can be found on the patio with attendees dance to the tunes and sip wine. Enjoy free wine tastings and a complimentary buffet of cheese, dips, and fruit. You might even get a bowl of some of the sweetest watermelon around. One of the best parts of Keg Springs is the wine slushy which comes in a variety of flavors from grape to watermelon to peach. It's a refreshing treat if you’re visiting during the summer.

Amber Falls Winery - Hampshire

The first thing you see at Amber Falls Winery in Hampshire is a cottage available to rent. Venture to the tasting room, you can see a water house and rows of labeled vines to learn about the many types of grapes they have on-site. Inside the tasting room, wine barrels line the walls, giving the tasting room a cozy feel. On Saturdays, live music and food trucks celebrate the weekend. Taste award-winning wines from merlot to Pinot Gris, cabernet sauvignon and more. One of the best wines they serve, Cajunfest, is comprised of a secret recipe that makes the wine smooth with a little spice. Couple this wine with barbecue nachos from Bubba Gandy's food truck, and you have the full experience. 

Natchez Hills Vineyard - Hampshire

Natchez Hills Vineyard in Hampshire is just a couple of miles down the road from Amber Falls. As you drive up to the tasting room, you'll feel like you're arriving for an exclusive experience. The property, tucked away in the hills, has immaculately-kept gardens fit for a royal wedding - or, your wedding as the vineyard hosts weddings throughout the year. There is also a recording studio on the second floor of the event space if you're an artist looking for a creative location to write and record music. Tastings cost $6 per person. You can taste their award-winning wines like Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, sparkling wine and rosé, in two different locations: the one in Hampshire and the Nashville Farmer's Market. Their best-seller is a brewed tea wine called Naughty Tea, that captures the taste of a southern sweet tea.
