Two historic Nashville streets merge to form a vibrant focal point within the heart of the city: Lower Broadway and Second Avenue North. Lower Broadway and Second Avenue North feature an array of honky tonk clubs and bars, with Tootsie's Orchid Lounge among the most well-known. The District encompasses an area of renovated warehouses and old bars. Here, you'll find the Wildhorse Saloon and two dozen other clubs showcasing bands on any given weekend night. The District is alive with live music, good restaurants and a vibrant club scene. Around the clock, the District is bustling with activity. Within a few blocks of the District, you'll also find the Tennessee Performing Arts Center and several other clubs. Nashville has seen a steady stream of people with the same dreams and desires, and they all seem to find their beginnings on Lower Broad. Be sure to check out what's happening on Historic 2nd Avenue, the first district in Nashville to receive National Register status. Today, it is notable for its beautiful architecture and for shops, nightlife and restaurants unique to Nashville.
