Rossini Festival

City: Knoxville, TN
Region: East Tennessee

This opera festival and downtown street fair bring a taste of Europe to East Tennessee and celebrates the color, fun and excitement of Italian culture. World-class opera performances, art exhibitions, wine tastings, street vendors, regional artisans and performers in many genres all are part of the reason it was voted Knoxville's best festival.

The 2009 season will include Knoxville Opera’s presentation of “Pagliacci” (Clowns) by Ruggiero Leoncavallo, at the fabulous Tennessee Theatre, and a fully-staged, costumed UT Opera Theatre production of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” (Don Juan), directed by Carroll Freeman, at the Bijou Theatre. In addition, several stages will offer continuous entertainment.
