Before city squares were laid out or county courthouses had foundations, the local churches and cemeteries were the cornerstones of each pioneer settlement. Tennessee's Backroads Heritage has created a list of some of these early churches and these old cemeteries where our Revolutionary Patriots and other early settlers laid down for their final rest.
