NOC Nolichucky River Whitewater Rafting

The Nolichucky River provides rafters with an authentic river experience, far-removed in a gorgeous wilderness, floating on a free-flowing river. Because this watershed depends upon seasonal rains instead of dam releases, the Noli takes on different characteristics at different water levels. Your NOC guide knows how to maximize the fun at each level, while maintaining our industry-setting standards of safety!

Nolichucky Lower Half-Day (ages 4+)
For families with young children, a float trip on the lower section of the Nolichucky is a great way to spend an afternoon outdoors. NOC guides will lead you down three to six miles of mild, Class I-II water. If water levels permit, your guide may allow some members of your group to paddle duckies. Splashing and swimming are encouraged as you float this scenic river corridor! This trip is open to rafters as young as four, and is a great activity for youngsters under the minimum age required to raft the Class IV Nolichucky Gorge. Water and snacks will be provided at a scenic spot along the river.

Nolichucky Gorge Express (ages 12+)
Don't have time to spend a full-day on the Nolichucky? This fully-guided raft trip will allow you to enjoy the beautiful Nolichucky Gorge when water levels are typically at their best, while also allowing you to pursue other activities in the area on the same day. Water and snacks will be provided at a scenic spot along the river.

Nolichucky Gorge Full-Day (ages 12+)
Enjoy a full-day trip with the best guides on the river. The character of this free-flowing river fluctuates with daily rainfall, and NOC guides are experts at maximizing the fun at every level. At high water levels, expect a fully-guided raft trip. As water levels abate, your trip leader may offer a combination of rafts and ducks, allowing everyone to choose their adventure. Included in the trip is a deli style lunch served in a scenic location alongside the river.

Nolichucky Gorge High Adventure Ducks (ages 16+)
Looking for a more adventurous day on the river? This ducky only trip is for those who want to enjoy the class III/IV rapids in the Nolichucky Gorge while paddling their own inflatable kayak. You will follow our guides down the most exciting lines as well as surf in rapids such as Jaws. Water and snacks will be provided at a scenic spot along the river to keep you hydrated and energized for this action-packed whitewater adventure.
