Take a trip back to the early 1800s as you explore charming Jonesborough, Tennessee' s oldest town. Amidst the numerous historic sites, you ll find one-of-a-kind specialty shops and cafes.

Today, Jonesborough is best known for the art of storytelling with the International Storytelling Center and annual National Storytelling Festival that draws thousands of visitors every October, a fitting tribute for a town with quite a story. The International Storytelling Center is the only facility in the world devoted to oral storytelling and its creative applications.
The Jonesborough Presbyterian Church and the Jonesborough United Methodist Church, both on West Main, are remarkable examples of 1840s Greek Revival architecture.
Jonesborough is a stop on the Sunny Side Trail, one of the 16 regional trails in Discover Tennessee Trails & Byways, your pass to the backroads that will help you discover what lies off the beaten path in Tennessee.
