From Knoxville: Take I-40 East to I-81. Take Greeneville Exit (23). Go Right on 11-E to Greeneville(NOT the Business Exit). Turn right at the 9th traffic light (just past Wal-Mart) onto Erwin Hwy 107. Travel approximately 4 1/2 miles, past Shanks & Shanks Grocery on the right. Next right onto Horse Creek Park Road. Turn at the huge green HORSE CREEK COMMUNITY sign. Go around a sharp curve. Stay left onto Broyles Rd. as you go up the hill. Gospel Barn at the foot of the hill on your left. From Kingsport/Johnson City/Erwin, TN/Asheville, NC: Go to Hwy 11-E (Runs through J.C. and Jonesborough). Go approximately 25 miles. Turn left at 1st traffic light past Greene Valley Developmental Center, onto Hwy. 107 or Erwin Hwy. Go appx 6 1/2 miles (East on 107) Turn right onto Horse Creek Park Rd., just past Shanks and Shanks Grocery. Stay left past the sharp curve, over the hill on Broyles Rd. Barn is on your left at the foot of the hill. From Erwin, TN: Hwy 81 to 107. Go west appx. 12 miles then turn LEFT onto Horse Creek Park Rd. NOTICE at the Horse Creek Park Rd. there is a GREEN "Horse creek community" sign. Turn here!
Hidden in the foothills of the East Tennessee mountains, Horse Creek Gospel Music Barn is Gospel music's best kept secret. Looking up at the majestic Cold Springs Mountain, Horse Creek is the only facility in the Tennessee mountains dedicated solely to Southern and bluegrass gospel music. It's literally a barn that has been converted to a beautiful arena with a Christian family atmosphere. There's live music every Saturday night at 7 p.m., with food at the cafe. You never know what you may see on stage, as every group that performs adds its own unique flavor and variety of instruments.
