Stirred by the sapphire mist that envelops our mountain vistas, Cherokee people named the Great Smoky Mountains the place of blue smoke. At Dancing Bear, we call them our back yard. Whether visiting the Smokies for relaxation, sport, romance or business, Dancing Bear Lodge inspires getaways as expansive and free-spirited as the Smokies itself. Reawaken your spirit by indulging in the rustic luxury of Dancing Bear Lodge and our awe-inspiring panoramas. Catch your breath with air as fresh and crisp as nearby crystalline streams. Add an inviting network of scenic hiking and bicycling trails, and easy access to prime golfing, shopping and dining—and you’ve discovered East Tennessee’s ultimate vacation basecamp.
Discover the peaceful side of the Smokies at this 36-acre resort. Dancing Bear Lodge redefines luxury with first class accommodations, genuine hospitality and a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. The focal point of the resort is the
magnificent 15,000 sq.ft. lodge constructed of Lodge Pole Pine and Engleman
Spruce harvested from the forest fires in Montana. The lodge offers a
spacious living room with a beamed cathedral ceiling, one-of-a-kind two story stone fireplace with hand-carved mantle, several sitting areas, covered front porch with rockers, twelve spacious guest rooms and a large deck complete with hot tub and outdoor fireplace with s'mores. The Dancing Bear Dining Room and Bar is also located in the Lodge. Designed to bring you an authentic regional experience, the Dancing Bear Lodge dining room combines the traditions and ingredients of the area as well as comfortably, tasteful atmosphere and genuine service. Start your day with a continental breakfast in the dining room and unwind in the evening with a three course dinner.
In addition to the spacious lodge rooms with featherbeds, Dancing Bear Lodge offers charming one and two bedroom cabins with special amenities including private porches with hot tubs, whirlpool tubs, full kitchens and luxurious Ralph Lauren linens. Guests enjoy guided fly fishing trips, guided and supported biking trips, horseback riding, hiking and biking through Townsend on the 9 mile paved trail that winds through the resort. Complimentary deluxe continental breakfast is served daily in the lodge along with s'mores by the outdoor fireplace each evening.
Group accommodations include meeting and banquet space for 12 - 125 attendees making Dancing Bear Lodge a perfect destination for weddings, family reunions, board meetings, and corporate retreats.
