Cafe Toscana, in East Memphis, features traditional Tuscan dishes with a contemporary twist. The fresh, simple menu is created by award-winning chef Giacomo Ciabattini, who studied culinary arts in Florence, Italy. Appetizers, from bruschetta to calamari fritti; fresh salads and soups; pastas, satisfying the most demanding palate; hearty entrees, all define a well-seasoned, creative chef and table. Two wine lists are provided: the dinner menu offers about 20 wines selected to accompany the cafe's offerings; a separate wine list includes more expensive wines. Dessert shooters, miniature examples of such treats as rum raisin bread pudding and chocolate mousse served in small glasses or dishes, round out the dining experience at Cafe Toscana. The dining experience is sure to leave you smiling.
