Armstrong-Lockett House & W.P. Toms Memorial Gardens "Crescent Bend"

City: Knoxville, TN
Region: East Tennessee
Subregion: Knoxville & Middle East

The Armstrong-Lockett House built in 1834 just west of downtown Knoxville, this southern antebellum home was once the centerpiece of a 600 acre working farm and is named for its prominent setting overlooking a majestic crescent bend in the Tennessee River. Meticulously restored in 1977, Crescent Bend is furnished with Eighteenth Century antique furniture, decorative arts, and an outstanding collection of English silver, circa 1569-1830. The Manicured formal Italian Gardens includes nine terraces and five fountains, providing an open air setting of magnolia blossoms, roses, and thousands of colorful blooming flowers.

There are four settings for wedding ceremonies at Crescent Bend House & Gardens: the Convexi Holly Maze Garden, the Roman Fountain level, the River Garden Terrace, and the River Lawn. Tents can be set up on the second and third terraces for a beautiful reception overlooking the gardens and Tennessee river.

Crescent Bend has indoor and outdoor facilities that can accommodate up to 250 guests. All Crescent Bend events are “customized” to your wants and desires. We offer all-inclusive event services as well as the option to plan your own event. Whether your event is during our annual TulipTime Festival when 25,000 tulips will be in bloom in the gardens or during the holiday season when the house is adorned with traditional Christmas decoration, picturesque Crescent Bend House and Gardens makes for a memorable occasion.

Just remember, when you reserve an event at Crescent Bend House and Gardens you are helping to preserve one of Knoxville’s historic sites.

From either West or East Interstate 40/75 through Downtown Knoxville take exit 386B to Alcoa Highway (US129). Proceed 1/2 mile and take the Kingston Pike (US 11/70) exit. From the exit ramp turn right to proceed West on Kingston Pike. Crescent Bend is located at 2728 Kingston Pike 500 yards west from Alcoa Highway.
