Festival HQ
Tennessee hits the festival high notes, with choices from Rolling Stone's Best Festival 2008 to the largest country music celebration in the world to a blues-based bash. The diversity is as broad as the state, with a history of great performers and traditions as well as new genres. After all, our state quarter shows three instruments: a fiddle for East Tennessee; a guitar for Middle Tennessee's country music; and a trumpet for the jazz and blues of Memphis. Sheet music on the coin emphasizes the impact of the Volunteer State's national and international musical legacy.

Here She Comes Again
Dolly Parton has twice been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song: in 1980 for "9 to 5" and in 2006 for "Travelin" Thru," which she wrote for "Transamerica." Her song, "I Will Always Love You" has hit number one three times, in 1974 and 1982 with Dolly singing, and again in 1991, with Whitney Houston singing, as part of the soundtrack to the film "The Bodyguard."
