Morgan County Opened New Visitor Center in Wartburg
Morgan County has officially opened its new Visitor Center in Wartburg. The center, funded by a grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, serves as the new home of the Chamber of Commerce and will showcase displays from the Brushy Mountain Prison Museum as well as from local craftsmen and artisans. The Cumberland Trail, a long-distance hiking trail that traverses Tennessee's Cumberland Plateau from near Chattanooga to Cumberland Gap, passes directly by the new visitors center. Wartburg, the county seat of Morgan County, is the only town located directly on the Cumberland Trail.
