Underground Utilities Project Wins Award
The Gatlinburg Underground Utilities project has won the Engineering Excellence Award, a prestigious, state-wide engineering award, bringing recognition to a 19-year, $24 million effort to improve the city's streetscape and enhance its mountain-village feel. The award is presented by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Tennessee. At the awards reception in Franklin, the Underground Utilities won the Grand Award in the Special Projects category, one of the highest honors a project team can receive.
