The Bristol CVB Service Award Goes to a Long Time Advocate
Claudia Moody, executive director of Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association, was recently awarded the Bristol CVB Service Award during the Bristol Chamber Awards event. Claudia is a Bristol native, a graduate of Tennessee High School and Virginia Intermont College, and has been in the tourism industry nearly 40 years. Claudia has served as executive director of NETTA for more than 25 years. She has served as chairman of the Tennessee Tourism Roundtable, the Tennessee representative to the Appalachian Regional Commission Tourism Council, and currently serves on the board of directors for the Tennessee Hospitality & Tourism Association along with numerous other regional and local tourism organizations. Claudia was instrumental in the creation of the Certified Tennessee Tourism Professional designation for tourism through the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development and University of Tennessee. She has advocated for continual growth and development of tourism in Bristol and the region, including development and overseeing the region’s racing and music heritage, Tales and Trails, Tri Cities Tennessee Travel Connection and Sunnyside Trail of Northeast Tennessee. She is a huge Tennessee Vols fan, and proudly wears the color orange.
