Civil War Marker Dedicated in Polk County

Civil War Trails marker was held in Benton at the Courthouse on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013.  Among those pictured with County Mayor Hoyt Firestone are Gerald Hodge, the new executive director of Tennessee Overhill Association, Mary Ann Peckham, executive director of the TN Civil War Preservation Association, Mrs. Marion Pressword, Polk County historian, Jenni Veal, tourism director of the Southeast TN Tourism Development District, Lee Curtis and Patricia Gray of the TN Dept. of Tourist Development.
