Military Monuments & Museums

Visit the Hazen Brigade Monument which commemorates the Stones River Campaign, a decisive battle favoring Union forces. This monument is noted as the oldest intact civil war monument still standing in its original location. Carnton Mansion, once used as a field hospital for wounded and dying Confederate soldiers, offers tours of the house, grounds and garden. Explore historic Lairdland Farm House and Civil War Museum where you can see an extensive collection of Union and Confederate artifacts, or head for the memorial in Greeneville, the only memorial in Tennessee to honor troops from both the Union and Confederate armies.
