Free day of activities for families and individuals starting at 8 a.m. with registration for all in front of the Visitors Center Kite flying, pontoon boat rides*, guided nature hikes (wild flowers, birds, butterflies, plants and animals), a regular hike led by TN Trails Association, 3-legged and sack races, crafting, prizes, cookie decorating, face painting, hay wagon shuttles, wild animal shows, gospel singing, blue grass and folk music, dancers and other live entertainment, plus our 1st car show and more. (*Children must be over age 3 years old and accompanied by an adult to ride the boats. ) Although the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts affiliated with the park will be selling some concessions for your convenience you are welcome to bring your lunch. So come prepared to enjoy a full day in the park or just come to visit for a while. However, some activities, including the boat rides, require sign-ups for a limited number on a first come, first serve basis. Sign-ups for these will begin at 8 a.m. in front of the Visitors Center. The Car Show will be in the marina parking lot next to the picnic shelters from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. No fees or reservations are required. Show off your cars, any class including sport, antique, restored classics, etc. Come and leave at your convenience while your family enjoys the other activities and entertainment at the Celebration of Spring. This is a free event but donations to the Friends of Edgar Evins State Park will be appreciated and help us offer activities througout the year.
