Granville will be having its first annual Scarecrow Festival October 5th thru Oct. 31st which is a first in Tennessee. You will see on the attached pictures that these are real life looking scarecrows that residents of Granville have made. We have patterned this after a scarecrow festival in California that has drawn nationwide coverage of their event. We will have over 30 of these in all the historical buildings of Granville as well as a large number of normal looking scarecrows along the streets of Granville.
Each visitor will be given a guided tour of the scarecrows so they can walk Clover Street and learn the history of the person that each scarecrow represents. The tour will begin in our new Whistle Stop Saloon & Daniels Ice Cream Parlor Museum and you can see some of the scarecrows attached of these buildings. For example, you will see Hop Lee a noted Granville Whiskey Maker who trained the people at Jack Daniels and went on to operate a large Whiskey Store on Broadway in Nashville.
