Pedal steel guitarist Paul Franklin began visiting Nashville in his early teens. Influenced by Pete Drake and Lloyd Green, he moved to Music City after high school and began doing session work and touring in Barbara Mandrell’s band. He also worked the road with Dottie West, Jerry Reed, and Mel Tillis. Recording became his focus in the late 1980s, and his many credits include country classics like “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” by George Strait and “Don’t Rock the Jukebox” by Alan Jackson. Franklin’s broad musicality led him to tour with Dire Straits in 1992. He continues to do session work and is now a member of Nashville’s Time Jumpers. This program will be streamed live at CountryMusicHallofFame.org. Live stream powered by NewTek Tricaster. Following the program, Franklin will sign a custom Hatch Show Print, purchased outside the Ford Theater.
