As the final exhibit in the “Shades of Paint” series, Tina Baker will draw you into her peaceful scenes of mountains, lakes and forests, lull you in cool ocean breezes and wrap you in warm waves. Her love of light as it plays on water soothes the soul and you can almost hear the roar of the waterfalls as they cascade along on an unknown journey. Ms. Baker tells her students to “make up a story about your painting and put yourself there”. This emotional intimacy is evident in her paintings, as she describes the cave hidden behind the waterfall from which she peers out through the mist. This magnificent collection of 23 paintings should be a part of your “fall color” viewing.
The Etowah Arts gallery is exhibiting the oil paintings of Tina Baker from October 11 through December 8, 2012. Gallery hours are 12-6pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
