Title: Robert Hicks
I wrote The Widow of the South so that people would come here. I wrote The Widow of the South because I wanted people to know this story. The great opportunity that people have, whether they are from New York or from New Zealand or wherever, is there is so much more to Tennessee than just The Widow of the South, there's so much more than just that story, and yet I believe the story is enough to bring people here. This is a rich wonderful place; it's physically beautiful. The diversity of the landscape is amazing. One of my favorite things about Tennessee is the incredible, rich, diverse musical heritage, from Appalachian music all the way to the blues, and now a successful rock movement is coming out of Tennessee. It's a layered history. It's really my favorite spot on earth.
